"I'm working on an educational website for The Old Governors' Mansion…The purpose of all of this
is to allow teachers and students with internet access to see what life in Georgia was like in
1850, and it will deal with everything from holiday celebrations, to illness and death.
When finished, it will be a great resource for teaching American Social History."

"My students are using the Internet to plan a 4-5 day trip for their teacher/themselves in a
selected Spanish-speaking country. As there are 20 Spanish-speaking countries, and I have
approximately 80 students, there will be four itineraries for each country. The students have to
plan everything from lodging, meals and transportation to the exchange rate, entertainment,
excursions, etc. They have to research the customs, the entry requirements, the weather, the
state of the government, etc. A specified number of historical sites must be found and included
in the trip. Obviously, this activity will utilize the Internet, but it will also provide an
insight into the culture of another country whose language we are studying. It is
cross-curriculum as it requires math skills in deciphering exchange rates, budget, etc."

"Future plans include interdisciplinary intranet usage (allowing classes from throughout the
building, in different disciplines, to share their thoughts) and hopefully on-line classrooms for
homebound, ill and injured students. We have one of the top graphics programs in the country and
would like to open it up via teleconferencing nationally and internationally; homework could be
emailed…"

"I am working with the administration at Decatur High School (in Atlanta, Georgia) and the counselor for
their Teen Parenting Program, in the development and implementation of a women's studies program for 9th
grade girls/women entering High School. Long range we would like to expand it to 8th grade Middle School
girls (a conjunctive program for males will be designed also). I would be interested in any input from
others who have designed or utilized women's studies topics or courses for adolescents or teens."
